The market takes place on Thursdays, 3 to 7 pm, March through November, rain or shine.

The market is accessible from the 24th Street BART station, as well as the 14, 49, and other MUNI lines. Find Bay Area transit information, maps, and schedules at 511.org/transit.

Most of our farmers market sellers take credit cards and contactless payments (such as Apple Pay). Look for “We Take Credit Cards” signs at their stalls, or just ask them!

You can also use your credit card or contactless payment at the Foodwise Info Booth to purchase wooden market coins, which can be redeemed at any farmers market stall. Note: Market coin purchases with Square at the Info Booth will be assessed a service fee.

Find Wells Fargo and US Bank ATMs at the intersection of 22nd and Mission, and a Chase ATM at 21st and Mission.

Yes! Foodwise farmers markets accept CalFresh EBT (also known as SNAP or food stamps). During market hours, customers can use their EBT card at the Foodwise Info Booth to receive market coins.

CalFresh EBT shoppers can double their benefits through the Market Match program (up to a set maximum per market day). Market Match tokens redeemable in the market for fresh fruits and vegetables. Learn more.

Yes! Foodwise farmers markets accept Fresh Approach VeggieRx, Eat SF Vouchers 4 Veggies, and WIC & FMNP vouchers. WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and FMNP (Farmers Market Nutrition Program) vouchers must be redeemed directly at participating sellers’ stalls. Learn more.

California Health & Safety Code 114259.5 stipulates that live animals aren’t allowed in certified farmers markets and permitted food facilities, with the exception of service animals. Fraudulently misrepresenting service animals is a misdemeanor (California Penal Code 365.7 [a]). Please make plans to leave your animal at home or at a safe place outside of the market.

Started as a grassroots neighborhood effort, the first Mission Community Market took place on Thursday, July 22, 2010. Foodwise took over operation of the farmers market on April 15, 2018. Learn more about the market’s history.

Certified Farmers Markets are locations certified by the Agricultural Commissioner of the county in which they are held where only California Certified Producers sell agricultural products directly to consumers. All of the farmers who sell at our market are certified as producers by the counties where they grow. Each county requires the submission of a production list complete with crop types, number of acres, location, estimated harvest and harvest season. From this information, a Producer’s Certificate is issued. The County Agricultural Inspector visits the farm during production to confirm that the farmer is growing what they claim to be.

All products that are not produced on a farm or sold by a farmer are sold in a non-certified, adjunct portion of each market. These items include non-farmstead cheeses and preserves, breads, prepared foods, and some meats. Many of our artisans and purveyors buy ingredients from our farmers to create their products.
