Needs-No-Recipe Melon Salad
Source: Brie Mazurek, CUESA Staff
Recipe Type: Salads | Seasons: Autumn, Summer
It’s impossible to go wrong with fruit salad in the summer, so it hardly requires a recipe, but this is a mouthwatering combination worth trying. The juice from the melon melds with vinegar (or shrub), olive oil, and chile-lime powder to create a dressing that will have you slurping the last dregs as you polish off the bowl. Find what’s fresh and in season at the farmers market, and adapt as you see fit.

2 or 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or summer fruit shrub
Dash of olive oil
Mexican chile-lime seasoning (like Rancho Gordo’s Stardust Dipping Powder), to taste

Add all the ingredients to a bowl, toss together, and enjoy!
