Thieves on Wednesday night raided the home of opposition leader Raila Odinga’s brother, Oburu Odinga.
The gangsters are said to have made away with more than a thousand chickens from his farm.
Speaking after the incident, the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP vilified the area security agents who he said have “outlived their usefulness.”
Odinga also noted that the levels of insecurity in Bondo have soared in the recent past with reports of murders and robberies reported every so often.
He also stated that thieves also broke into the home of nominated Siaya county assembly member Tabu Osewe. Similarly, the gang stole his chicken and other valuables.
The legislator also recalled how his own farmhand was “butchered and his body dumped in a nearby dam.”
Another young man, he said, was brutally murdered in an estate in Bondo town as his family watched.

“Bondo is endowed with all manner of security personnel, yet these murders and the worrying security trends increase every other day,” he told the Star.
In June, thieves raided Raila’s Opoda farm in Bondo. The thugs reportedly cut through the fence are said to have stolen livestock; geese, sheep and goats.
