Daily Nation columnist and photojournalist Rasna Warah left many in shock on Twitter after she asked for suicide tips.
In a post on the social media platform Ms Warah posed: “Suicide tips anyone?”

The post made on Tuesday has attracted more than 130 comments with many including Kibra MP Ken Okoth sending a word of encouragement.
She has worked for the Daily Nation since 2006, where she writes a weekly column on social, economic and political issues impacting Kenya and the wider world.
Ms Warah, her Linkedin profile reads, has authored a couple of books including; Triple Heritage (1998), Roasted Maize (2011) and the most recent one being Mogadishu Then and Now (2012).
She has in the past worked with the United Nations. She also edited and co-authored UN-HABITAT’s State of the World’s Cities report.
Her articles and essays have been published in a wide range of publications, including the
State of the World, UN Chronicle, Africa Recovery, the Mail and Guardian, Development, Kwani? and the East African.

According to data released in June the number of suicides reported in Kenya rose by 58 per cent between 2008 and 2017 to reach 421.
The World Population Review ranks Kenya at position 114 among 175 countries with the highest suicide rate with World Health Organisation (WHO) stating that close to 800,000 people commit suicide every year, translating into one person every 40 seconds.
