9 year old Maribel Kapolon could have been killed as a result of a love affair gone sour, police have indicated.
The deceased’s mother and Senior resident magistrate of Githongo Law Courts, Caroline Kemei is said to have been in a romantic relationship with one of the suspects, Benson Kimathi.
Kimathi is a former prisons officer who under unclear circumstances left the service on April 10, 2017.
The ex love birds met while she was working in Maua courts and he in Kangeta. The relationship took off real fast and ended just as fast, the Nairobian reports.
During the relationship they were allegedly inseparable with so much in common including estranged spouses.
Kimathi’s ex wife is said to have milked him dry with demands for child support, something that frustrated him.

“He was obviously relieved when he met and fell in love with the dashing magistrate,” a former colleague told the weekly publication.
At some point Kimathi was knee deep in debt prompting him to secure a Sh2 million loan.
The other suspect in police custody was arrested in Kayole, Nairobi and is believed to have made the call demanding for a Sh500,000 ransom.
Kapolon went missing on September 6 at around 5 pm when a man “well known to her” approached her at a petrol station.
The class 4 pupil, described as a God-fearing and committed child, described the man as her “uncle.”
Her mutilated body was recovered on Sunday, 16 September.
