Businessman Erastus Odhiambo alias Ediot was found guilty of killing his girlfriend Lydia Wanjiku Irungu in Buruburu estate on December 11, 2014.
Justice Stellah Mutuku held that the defendant went to the deceased house with the intention of killing her as he already had a cocked gun.

On the fateful night the bar owner went to the residence of the lawyer three times. Lydia had declined an offer to go on a night out. A struggle ensued between the two and the trigger was pulled.
The lady justice declined the defendants defense that it was the lawyer who had pulled the trigger that resulted in her death.
“Although the accused claims the deceased reached out for his gun and fired in the air, it is impossible for the bullet to have changed directions to hit her at the back. It is the accused who fired the fatal shot which killed Ms Irungu with whom they had been quarreling,” Justice Stellah Mutuku stated.
The judge said that all the evidence placed the accused person at the scene of the incident and therefore found him guilty of murder.
He will be sentenced on July 31 after the prosecution presents an impact report from the victims family and also to look if he has previous convictions.
