Recipe Type: Drinks | Seasons: Spring, Summer
This recipe was made at CUESA’s Fifth Annual Summer Celebration on June 14, 2015.
This is a refreshing nonalcoholic drink that uses a shrub (drinking vinegar) from Little Apple Treats, which can be found on Saturdays at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. To make your own pickled cherries, soak the cherries in apple cider vinegar for 1 week, drain, then soak in simple syrup with 1 vanilla bean for 1 week.
Makes 1 drink
INGREDIENTS
1 jigger Little Apple cherry-vanilla shrub
8 ounces sparkling water
1 pickled cherry (see note above)
Mint sprigs for garnish
Dried rose petals for garnish
PREPARATION
Combine the shrub and sparkling water over ice, and garnish with a pickled cherry, mint, and dried rose petals.
