OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman’s sister, Ann Altman, has filed a lawsuit alleging that he regularly sexually abused her between 1997 and 2006.

The lawsuit, which was filed on 6 January in a US District Court in the Eastern District of Missouri, alleges that the abuse started when she was three and Mr Altman was 12.

In a joint statement on X, with his mother and two brothers, Mr Altman denied the allegations, saying “all of these claims are utterly untrue.”

“Caring for a family member who faces mental health challenges is incredibly difficult,” the statement added.

“This situation causes immense pain to our entire family.”

In the filing, which has been seen by the BBC, Ms Altman alleged that the abuse, which took place over many years, included rape.

The lawsuit added the last instance of the alleged abuse took place when Mr Altman was an adult but she was still a minor.

The lawsuit requested a jury trial and damages in excess of $75,000 (£60,100).

Ms Altman has previously made similar allegations against her brother on social media platforms such as X.

Mr Altman is one of the technology world’s most high-profile figures.

In late 2022, OpenAI launched the ChatGPT generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot.

A former Love Island contestant says it “took her breath away” to discover that someone removing a condom during sex is classified as rape.

Stealthing, as it is known, happens when someone removes a condom during consensual sex without informing the other person.

Megan Barton-Hanson says she experienced this up to six times, with a man claiming the condom had split on each occasion, leading to her having an abortion.

“I didn’t know it was a crime,” the 30-year-old tells the BBC.

“I just thought that’s something between partners that you have to discuss with them.”

Megan added that she knew his actions were “unfair and unjust” but it was only in a recording of the We Need to Talk podcast, when host Paul C Brunson told her, that she realised the man’s actions were rape.

“I’d never heard of stealthing, ever,” she says.

“When we started to have sex, the condom was obviously on – that was fine – and then at the end, he’d removed it intentionally but his excuse was ‘it split and it broke’.

“It was shocking.”

The Metropolitan Police says stealthing is a slang word but the practice is legally considered rape, although prosecutions are rare due to under-reporting, as many do not realise it is an offence.

In October, a University College London (UCL) survey showed just over one in 10 people aged 18-25 did not consider non-consensual condom removal to be sexual assault.

Andrea Simon, executive director of End Violence Against Women and Girls, says although sex can start off consensually, if someone violates that consent by removing a condom, it is considered rape and it can be prosecuted as rape.

“It’s very hard to know the prevalence of stealthing, as not many people may understand it as actually an act of sexual violence or a crime,” she explains.

“It’s really important that men, in particular, understand that it’s criminal behaviour to intentionally remove a condom during sex without consent and we know that it speaks very much to men’s sense of entitlement over women’s bodies and it’s a violation of women’s bodily autonomy.”

The issue was explored in the fourth episode of BBC drama I May Destroy You in 2020, where the main character Arabella has sex with a man who removes the condom without her knowledge.

Arabella doesn’t realise it’s rape until she hears it discussed on a podcast.

‘Criminal behaviour’

The seriousness of this form of sexual violence is accurately reflected in the language we use to talk about it, according to Ciara Bergman, chief executive of Rape Crisis England and Wales.

“So-called stealthing is a form of rape under English and Welsh law,” she says.

“If someone has received consent for sex on the basis that they will wear a condom and they then remove the condom without the other person’s knowledge or permission, consent for sex from that point is lost.”

Megan’s advice to someone who may have concerns is clear.

She says: “I think if you’ve got any kind of suspicions, red flags, tell a friend, tell someone and then you can go together and share to the police.

“You don’t have to make it a big old deal; you can call from the comfort of your own home, but I think definitely reach out to somebody because it’s not fair and it’s not OK.”

Three more men have accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of rape and sexual assault in a batch of new lawsuits alleging the rapper drugged and assaulted them.

The complaints, filed separately in New York Supreme Court on Thursday, involve incidents that allegedly occurred between 2019-22.

Two of the plaintiffs allege they went to parties with Mr Combs, where he “personally offered” them alcoholic drinks which made them unconscious, before they say he raped them.

The rapper’s lawyers dismissed the lawsuits calling them “full of lies”. He remains in custody at a Brooklyn jail.

“We will prove them false and seek sanctions against every unethical lawyer who filed fictional claims against him,” the rapper’s legal team told the BBC in a statement.

The three lawsuits add to over 30 civil cases filed against Mr Combs, many of which involve similar accusations of sexual assaults dating back to the 1990s.

The rapper has been denied bail three times and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Thomas Giuffra, the attorney who filed the three lawsuits on behalf of his clients, told the BBC in an interview that more than 60 people have reached out to his office with claims against Mr Combs.

He said his office had investigated each of the claims and decided to move forward with these three cases.

He said the men decided to file the lawsuits anonymously because they’re afraid of Mr Combs and his reach and influence.

In one of the new lawsuits, an anonymous plaintiff listed as John Doe accuses Mr Combs of assault following an encounter at the Marquee nightclub in New York in 2019.

According to his complaint, he joined Mr Combs and 10 other individuals for a private afterparty when the hip-hop mogul “personally offered” him a cocktail, after which he felt disoriented. The man alleges that Mr Combs noticed his disoriented state and said: “He is ready to party.”

The man claims he blacked out and during brief moments of consciousness, he said he noticed a man and a woman recording as he was being raped by the musician.

The following morning, the man claims he was given about $2,500 (£2,000) by the man and woman recording the assault, who said the money came from Mr Combs.

Another anonymous plaintiff alleges that he attended a party at Mr Combs’ East Hampton home in the summer of 2020. After consuming alcohol provided by Mr Combs, the man claims he began to lose consciousness.

While “fading in and out of consciousness”, he alleges that Mr Combs and others from Bad Boys Entertainment “took turns raping him”.

The third anonymous man claims he met Mr Combs in 2006 and began working for him.

He alleges that in February 2020, he met Mr Combs at a hotel to discuss unpaid wages and during that meeting, he claims the rapper prepared him a drink that he believes was drugged.

He says he lost consciousness and woke up to find Mr Combs assaulting him.

Mr Combs allegedly told him he would look like an idiot if he went to the police and that no-one would ever believe him, the lawsuit states.

Mr Combs is also separately facing federal criminal charges in a sex-trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

Authorities allege the star orchestrated a long-running scheme involving sexual abuse and exploitation, including arranging drug-fuelled events featuring male sex workers.

Mr Combs has pleaded not guilty to all the accusations.

His legal team has repeatedly asserted his innocence.

The trial is scheduled for May.

A woman who has accused Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor of raping her has told a court he choked her three times and she thought she was going to die.

Nikita Hand has taken civil action against Mr McGregor and another man, seeking damages for an alleged sex attack in a Dublin hotel in December 2018.

Mr McGregor denies the allegations and his lawyers told an earlier hearing that Ms Hand is attempting extortion.

In 2020, Ireland’s Director of Public Prosecutions decided not to criminally prosecute either man due to a lack of evidence and no reasonable prospect of conviction.

In a Republic of Ireland civil action – as opposed to a criminal case – neither the complainant nor the two accused men are entitled to automatic anonymity during the court proceedings.

As she gave evidence on Wednesday, Ms Hand was visibly shaking and the court was adjourned repeatedly so she could take breaks.

The former hair colourist outlined her recollections of the alleged attack, which began after a Christmas night out with colleagues on Saturday 8 December 2018.

Ms Hand had been drinking and admitted she had taken cocaine when she contacted Mr McGregor that night.

She said he collected her and a friend from the salon in a chauffeured car to go to another party.

Ms Hand went to a penthouse suite in the Beacon Hotel with a group who included Mr McGregor and his security team.

She recalled telling Mr McGregor she was not there for sex – that she had a boyfriend and knew his partner.

But she claimed Mr McGregor placed her in a chokehold and choked her three times.

“He pinned me down on the bed, I held my hands to my chest, he put his body weight on top of me.”

‘I thought I’d never see my daughter again’

Ms Hand said she could not breathe and felt her “only defence was to bite him”.

“He didn’t like it. So he flipped around and had me by the neck and shoulders,” she said.

Ms Hand alleged that at this stage she froze.

“I couldn’t move, I was staring at the bed post thinking about my daughter, thinking I was gonna die,” she said.

“I thought I’d never see my daughter again.”

After this, she alleged Mr McGregor let her go and she apologised to him to “reassure” him so that “he wouldn’t hurt me again”.

Ms Hand said that McGregor said: “‘That’s how I felt in the octagon and I had to tap myself out three times’.

She added: “I thought it was such a weird thing to say. I promised him I wouldn’t tell anyone anything.

“I just let him do whatever he needed to do, so I could survive, I wasn’t myself anymore.”

After this, Ms Hand alleges the MMA fighter pulled off her clothes and raped her.

She said she later woke up in a panic, worried she had not contacted her partner.

She texted her partner saying she was having a great time, but Ms Hand told the court she had done this because she “didn’t want to worry him”.

When McGregor left, Ms Hand was left in the hotel room with the second defendant James Lawerence, from Rafters Road in Drimnagh, Dublin.

“I remember breaking down then,” she said.

“Things were coming back to me, looking at my arms. I said: ‘You all turned a blind eye to what Conor does to women.'”

Ms Hand claims Mr Lawerence replied: “I cant believe I was in this room when that was happening to you.”

She added he tried to calm her and ordered her a burger and chips.

In the days after the alleged attack, Ms Hand told a colleague and then her mother about the alleged attack.

She sought hospital treatment and began engaging with the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.

But when she reported the attack to gardaí at a later date, she was told Mr Lawrence claimed that he had sex with her on the same night in the hotel.

“I was shocked, I had no memory of that whatsoever,” Ms Hand told the court.

“I thought James was looking out for me and he says things like that.”

The court was later shown CCTV footage of Mr McGregor leaving the hotel at about 18:00 GMT on the Sunday night, while Ms Hand and Ms Lawrence left at 22:17 GMT.

Ms Hand and Mr Lawrence appeared barefoot in some of the CCTV footage – they were carrying drinks and struggling to return to their room from the hotel lift.

Ms Hand wept and shook as the footage was played, saying she had no recollection of being in the lift or carpark.

In the time since the alleged attack, the court heard Ms Hand has been unable to work due to mental health issues and is living on disability allowance.

More than 370 million girls and women alive today – or 1 in 8 – experienced rape or sexual assault before the age of 18, according to new UNICEF estimates released today.

The first-ever global and regional estimates on sexual violence against children – published ahead of the International Day of the Girl – reveal the scale of the violation worldwide, especially for adolescent girls, often with lifelong implications.

When ‘non-contact’ forms of sexual violence, such as online or verbal abuse, are included, the number of girls and women affected rises to 650 million globally – or 1 in 5, underscoring the urgent need for comprehensive prevention and support strategies to address all forms of violence and abuse effectively.

“Sexual violence against children is a stain on our moral conscience,” said UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell. “It inflicts deep and lasting trauma, often by someone the child knows and trusts, in places where they should feel safe.”

Sexual violence against children is pervasive, cutting across geographical, cultural, and economic boundaries, the data show. Sub-Saharan Africa has the highest number of victims, with 79 million girls and women affected (22 percent).

In Kenya, the 2019 Violence Against Children Survey shows that one in six females (15.6%) experienced childhood sexual violence, with up to 62.6% of them experiencing it multiple times before the age of 18. Further, up to 19% of 18-24-year-old females who experienced sexual violence before age 18, said perpetrators of the first incident of any sexual violence in childhood were schoolmates.

“The data paints a grim reality for many girls in Kenya who are experiencing sexual violence, even within their own schools, communities and online. This is unacceptable,” said Shaheen Nilofer, UNICEF Kenya Representative. “We must strengthen an integrated child protection system at the community level, including making sure girls can access support such as clinical and psychosocial services, and a safe reporting mechanism. Most importantly, we must equip girls with the knowledge and skills to stay safe online and offline.”

In fragile settings such as those with weak institutions, UN peacekeeping forces, or large numbers of refugees fleeing due to political or security crises, girls face an even greater risk, with the prevalence of rape and sexual assault in childhood slightly more than 1 in 4.

“Children in fragile settings are especially vulnerable to sexual violence,” said Ms. Russell. “We are witnessing horrific sexual violence in conflict zones, where rape and gender-based violence are often used as weapons of war.”

According to the data, most childhood sexual violence occurs during adolescence, with a significant spike between ages 14 and 17. Studies show that children who experience sexual violence are more likely to suffer repeated abuse. Implementing targeted interventions during adolescence is crucial to breaking this cycle and mitigating the long-term impacts of such trauma.

Survivors often carry the trauma of sexual violence into adulthood, facing higher risks of sexually transmitted diseases, substance abuse, social isolation, and mental health issues like anxiety and depression, as well as challenges in forming healthy relationships. Evidence shows that the impact is further compounded when children delay disclosing their experiences, sometimes for long periods, or keep the abuse secret altogether.

Although more girls and women are affected, and their experiences are better documented, boys and men are also impacted, the data show. An estimated 240 to 310 million boys and men – or around 1 in 11 – have experienced rape or sexual assault during childhood. This estimate rises to between 410 and 530 million when non-contact forms are included.

Persistent data gaps, particularly on boys’ experiences and non-contact forms of sexual violence, highlight the need for increased investment in data collection to capture the full scale of sexual violence against children.

As government leaders and civil society, including activists, survivors, and young people prepare to meet at the inaugural Global Ministerial Conference on Violence Against Children in Colombia next month, the data highlight the urgent need for intensified global action to combat childhood sexual violence and build a safer future for children worldwide by:

· Challenging and changing social and cultural norms that allow sexual violence to occur and discourage children from seeking help.

· Equipping every child with accurate, accessible, and age-appropriate information that empowers them to recognize and report sexual violence.

· Ensuring that every child victim and survivor has access to services that support justice and healing and reduce the risk of further harm.

· Strengthening laws and regulations to protect children from all forms of sexual violence, including in organizations that work with children, and investing in the people, resources, and systems needed to implement them.

· Building better national data systems to monitor progress and ensure accountability by implementing international standards like the International Classification of Violence against Children.

A team of detectives is pursuing a gang of five that attacked and raped two female students in their room in Kesses, Eldoret Town, Uasin Gishu County.

The victims are students at Moi University Annex campus.

The students said they were in their room along Thika Road area within Racecourse when a gang of five broke into their rooms on Saturday September 7 night.

The gang was armed with crude weapons when they staged the raid.

According to police and the students, the gang held the victims hostage as they demanded cash and valuables from them.

There were four students in the room but two were attacked and raped.

After the ordeal, the gang robbed them of two 6 kg gas cylinders (K-gas and Afrigas), three mobile phones, an iron box, a laptop bag, a calculator and a school ID card.

The two victims were escorted to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment, police said.

Detectives visited the scene and hospital as part of the probe.

A major hunt is ongoing in the area to ensure justice. The suspects will face rape and robbery with violence charges.

The offences are serious and police hope to ensure justice for the victims.

Elsewhere along Eldoret-Nakuru highway near Rupa Mall in Eldoret town a gang raided and robbed a petrol station of 42 assorted gas cylinders.

The gang raided the Shell petrol station on Saturday night and terrorized attendants on duty before escaping with the 25 full gas cylinders of 13 kilograms and 17 cylinders of six kilograms.

The attendants said they were on duty when a group of about six men driving in a Toyota Noah registration that was not captured came to the station.

They requested water from one of the security guards who was on patrol to cool their vehicle engine.

They then grabbed and subdued the security guards forced them inside the generator room and tied them using sisal ropes on the legs and arms.

The suspects then broke into the gas cages and stole the cylinders before driving off to an unknown destination.

Doctors in India Saturday started a national strike, escalating the protest against the rape and murder of a female colleague in the West Bengal city of Kolkata.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), the country’s largest grouping of doctors, said all non-essential hospital services would be shut down across the country on Saturday.

The IMA described last week’s killing as a “crime of barbaric scale due to the lack of safe spaces for women” and asked for the country’s support in its “struggle for justice”.

Protests against the attack and calling for the better protection of women have intensified in recent days after a mob vandalised the hospital where it happened.

The IMA said emergency and casualty services would continue to run and that the strike would last for 24 hours.

Doctors at some government hospitals announced earlier this week that they were indefinitely halting elective procedures.

The IMA also issued a list of demands including the strengthening of the law to better protect medical staff against violence, increasing the level of security at hospitals and the creation of safe spaces for rest.

It called for a “meticulous and professional investigation” into the killing and the prosecution of those involved in vandalising, as well as compensation for the woman’s family.

The rape of the 31-year-old female trainee doctor has shocked the country.

Her half-naked body bearing extensive injuries was discovered in a seminar hall at R G Kar Medical College last week after she was reported to have gone there to rest during her shift.

A volunteer who worked at the hospital has been arrested in connection with the crime.

The case has been transferred from local police to India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following criticism at the lack of progress.

More incidents of rape have made headlines in India since the woman’s death and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that “monstrous behaviour against women should be severely and quickly punished”.

The woman’s rape and killing has sparked a political blame game in West Bengal, with the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing the governing Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) of orchestrating the attack.

The TMC has refuted the allegation and has blamed “political outsiders” for stoking the violence.

Tens of thousands of women across West Bengal participated in the Reclaim the Night march on Wednesday night to demand “independence to live in freedom and without fear”.

Though the protests were largely peaceful, clashes erupted between the police and a small group of unidentified men who barged into the RG Kar Hospital – the site of the crime – and ransacked its emergency ward.

At least 25 people have been arrested in connection with the incident so far.

Protests have also been held in many other Indian cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune.

“It feels like hope is being reignited,” one demonstrator, Sumita Datta, told the AFP news agency as thousands of people marched through the streets of Kolkata on Friday.

Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction was Thursday overturned by New York’s top court, on the basis that he did not receive a fair trial.

The New York Court of Appeals found that prosecutors were allowed to call witnesses whose accusations were not part of the trial.

The ruling said that meant he was tried on past behaviour and not solely on the crimes he was charged with.

Weinstein, 72, will remain in prison for a separate conviction for rape.

“We conclude that the trial court erroneously admitted testimony of uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts against persons other than the complainants of the underlying crimes,” the court’s 4-3 decision said. “The remedy for these egregious errors is a new trial.”

The state Court of Appeals ruling reopens a painful chapter in America’s reckoning with sexual misconduct by powerful figures — an era that began in 2017 with a flood of allegations against Weinstein. His accusers could again be forced to relive their traumas on the witness stand.

The court’s majority said “it is an abuse of judicial discretion to permit untested allegations of nothing more than bad behavior that destroys a defendant’s character but sheds no light on their credibility as related to the criminal charges lodged against them.”In a stinging dissent, Judge Madeline Singas wrote that the majority was “whitewashing the facts to conform to a he-said/she-said narrative,” and said the Court of Appeals was continuing a “disturbing trend of overturning juries’ guilty verdicts in cases involving sexual violence.”

“The majority’s determination perpetuates outdated notions of sexual violence and allows predators to escape accountability,” Singas wrote.

Weinstein, 72, has been serving a 23-year sentence in a New York prison following his conviction on charges of criminal sex act for forcibly performing oral sex on a TV and film production assistant in 2006 and rape in the third degree for an attack on an aspiring actress in 2013.

Weinstein’s lawyers argued Judge James Burke’s rulings in favor of the prosecution turned the trial into “1-800-GET-HARVEY.”

The reversal of Weinstein’s conviction is the second major #MeToo setback in the last two years, after the US Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal of a Pennsylvania court decision to throw out Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction.

His conviction stood for more than four year heralded by activists and advocates as a milestone achievement, but dissected just as quickly by his lawyers and, later, the Court of Appeals when it heard arguments on the matter in February.

Allegations against Weinstein, the once powerful and feared studio boss behind such Oscar winners as “Pulp Fiction” and “Shakespeare in Love,” ushered in the MeToo movement.

Weinstein is incarcerated in New York at the Mohawk Correctional Facility, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) northwest of Albany.

He maintains his innocence. He contends any sexual activity was consensual.

Weinstein lawyer Arthur Aidala argued before the appeals court in February that Burke swayed the trial by allowing three women to testify about allegations that weren’t part of the case and by giving prosecutors permission to confront Weinstein, if he had testified, about his long history of brutish behavior.

Aidala argued the extra testimony went beyond the normally allowable details about motive, opportunity, intent or a common scheme or plan, and essentially put Weinstein on trial for crimes he wasn’t charged with.

Weinstein wanted to testify, but opted not to because Burke’s ruling would’ve meant answering questions about more than two-dozen alleged acts of misbehavior dating back four decades, Aidala said. They included fighting with his movie producer brother, flipping over a table in anger and snapping at waiters and yelling at his assistants.

“We had a defendant who was begging to tell his side of the story. It’s a he said, she said case, and he’s saying ‘that’s not how it happened. Let me tell you how I did it,’” Aidala argued. Instead, the jurors heard evidence of Weinstein’s prior bad behavior that “had nothing to do with truth and veracity. It was all ‘he’s a bad guy.’”

Aidala also took issue with Burke’s refusal to remove a juror who had written a novel involving predatory older men, a topic the defense lawyer argued too closely resembled the issues in Weinstein’s case.

A lawyer for the Manhattan district attorney’s office, which prosecuted the case, argued that the judge‘s rulings were proper and that the extra evidence and testimony he allowed was important to provide jurors context about Weinstein’s behavior and the way he interacted with women.

“Defendant’s argument was that they had a consensual and loving relationship both before and after the charged incidents,” Appellate Chief Steven Wu argued, referring to one of the women Weinstein was charged with assaulting. The additional testimony “just rebutted that characterization completely.”

Wu said Weinstein’s acquittal on the most serious charges — two counts of predatory sexual assault and a first-degree rape charge involving actor Annabella Sciorra’s allegations of a mid-1990s rape — showed jurors were paying attention and they were not confused or overwhelmed by the additional testimony.

Police arrested former soccer player Robinho in the Brazilian city of Santos on Thursday to serve out a nine-year prison sentence for rape, local news website G1 reported.
Robinho’s defense had filed a petition to Brazil’s Supreme Court to avoid his arrest, but the appeal was rejected on Thursday. On Wednesday, a separate local court had ruled the athlete must serve his sentence in Brazil, though he was convicted in Italy.

Brazilian soccer player Dani Alves can be released from jail on a 1 million euro ($1.1 million) bail while he appeals his rape conviction, after serving about a quarter of his four-and-a-half-year sentence, a Barcelona court ruled on Wednesday.
The conditions for Alves’ release include relinquishing both his Brazilian and Spanish passports so he cannot leave Spain as well as an obligation to appear before the court on a weekly basis or whenever summoned.
The court also imposed a restraining order barring Alves from coming within 1,000 metres (3,300 feet) of the victim.
The case of Alves, one of the most successful soccer players in history, attracted significant attention not only due to the Brazilian’s profile but because gender-based violence has become an increasingly dominant topic in Spain’s public discourse.
The former Barcelona, Juventus and PSG defender has been held at a Barcelona prison since January 2023. He was convicted on Feb. 22 of raping a woman in the restroom of a Barcelona nightclub in 2022 and ordered to pay her 150,000 euros. He has appealed against the conviction.
In its ruling, the court’s majority cited an article in the Spanish constitution enshrining a person’s right to freedom and said it superseded the function of a prison on remand, as Alves’ conviction was not yet final.
The 40-year-old defender’s 4-1/2-year prison sentence was below the nine and 12 years sought by the prosecutor and the victim respectively.
“To me, it’s a scandal that they let a person who they know can get a million euros in no time walk free,” the victim’s lawyer, Ester Garcia, told RAC1 radio station immediately after the ruling.
The decision, which was not unanimous due to a dissenting vote from one of the three judges on the panel, can be challenged on appeal.
Garcia said she was “outraged and dissatisfied” with the ruling, adding it was “a justice (system) for the rich” and that she would lodge an appeal.
The court’s decision and bail imposed was also criticised by far-left Sumar party, the junior partner in Spain’s ruling government coalition.
“Justice is patriarchal and discriminates according to class. Enough already,” it posted on social platform X.
Alves’ lawyer was not immediately available for comment.
His was one of the most high-profile trials in Spain since a law was passed in 2022 that made consent a key element in sexual assault cases and widened the range of prison time.
Alves benefited from this law, introduced by the Socialist-led government, as it carried a lower minimum sentence and reduced sentencing due to mitigating factors.
Alves joined Mexican side Pumas UNAM in 2022 for a reported monthly salary of 300,000 euros. The club terminated his contract following his arrest.
